Yes let’s spend 150 billion on 6 refineries that would only lead to the closure of 6 other ones. Great idea. We already produce excess diesel and gas. Just because we are stupid enough to continue going to war in the Middle East now lets puts companies out of business to feed the war machine.
Trump should direct the DOE to build six oil refineries on U.S. Govt property, with around the clock construction schedules, and waive all permitting requirements.
They should be built regionally around the country so they can provide a supply of gasoline and diesel into the economy.
If private industry cannot meet the need, then the gasoline production industry needs to be treated no differently than other public utilities.

Anyone trying be literal about the use of this exact vehicle is missing the point.
This is how innovation works.. it’s how it’s always worked.
Is anyone flying today in a plane that looks like the Wright brothers? No.
They proved it could be done and that’s where it starts.
Concepts evolve, tech evolves, engineers get excited about what could be.
Did Elon build it? No. Also doesn’t matter.
His company is giving outlets and resources to engineers who want to build cutting edge machines.
If you were a top engineer would you want to work at Chevy or SpaceX?
So a big Duh to anyone saying your not going to buy this exact vehicle.
But 10 years from now, you might be considering one similar that’s evolved to everyday capabilities and safety.

🚨 BREAKING: Ukrainian military sources are reporting that Elon Musk’s SpaceX abruptly restricted Starlink satellite communications during Ukrainian military operations overnight, disrupting critical missions as Russia unleashed a massive missile and drone barrage against Kyiv.
Ukrainian activist Serhii Sternenko reports that Starlink connections began dropping when terminals were moving faster than 100 mph (160 km/h), causing multiple missions to fail.
Ukrainian military communications expert Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov says the restrictions were imposed WITHOUT WARNING.
Sternenko suspects SpaceX acted at the request of the Trump administration, though that allegation has not been independently confirmed.
It is clear that Trump is furious that Zelenskyy has refused to surrender and give away eastern Ukraine, and now Trump is trying to break Ukraine's resolve by actively supporting Russia.
He seems to take that refusal as a personal insult, an attack on his image as the dealmaker who can end the war. Once again, Trump is blaming his own failures on others. This time, the consequences are deadly.
