At K2 Space, we made a contrarian bet that large, high-power satellites would be the foundational infrastructure for the new space economy. Four years and over $1B in signed contracts later, that thesis is being proven out as our high-power, high payload mass satellites allow our customers to achieve more in space at a fraction of the cost of traditional, smaller buses. Daniel Biedermann, Partner at @newspacecapital, highlights this trend in a recent piece below: "As a result of this kind of innovation, customers can fly much larger radars, communication systems, processors, and defence payloads without having to design a whole spacecraft from scratch. I'm excited to share this detailed update on our Gravitas mission -- from design, to mission timeline, to what's next as we continue to successfully operate our first large, high power satellite on orbit and prepare for more launches in 2027 and beyond.

K2 Space was pleased to host @RepMcCormick for a recent tour of our California factory, where our team of 300+ engineers and technicians works tirelessly to build large, high power satellites at speed and scale for key national security initiatives.

Within hours of launch, @K2SpaceCo's Gravitas had separated from the launch vehicle, deployed its solar arrays, and established two-way communication with the ground. For co-founders @neelkunjur and @KaranKunjur, it was the first proof that customers could rely on what they had built.
