It's important to understand that the new pipeline to the West Coast, Pacific Link, isn't approved. What is announced today is that the process to see IF it will get approved, and what criterias it will need to meet is beginning and that the Federal government will support it. Here is Mark Carney trying to explain the process.

This “announcement” changes nothing. Just more performative nonsense intended to sway Alberta voters. The con is on!

This was more pre-referendum political sway than anything with new with teeth.

Good to see project announced but lots of work to be done. 11 months - doesn't seem like enough time..

Project was announced a long time ago, we need it to get started and not sitting in more paperwork just to see if it will actually be built.

When was the MOU signed again. Now a year of process to see if it will get approved. If approved, how long till shovels are in the ground? Thats speeds never before seen, I tell ya. But reality, this is never happening, Carney knows this too.

"The way this process works is that there will now be the process for developing the conditions for the project". What's wrong with Canada in a single sentence.

This announcement serves as a distraction for a couple of items. 1. Alberta Referendum 2. France/Fisheries debacle 3. More lost jobs This is just another fake and gay display. Shame on Danielle.

Start date September 2027? Build baby build. We will build at speeds never seen before. All talk and no substance. The Liberals have been in power since 2015 and have done zero for the economy and prosperity.

Typical liberals, making an announcement that they will be making an announcement that a project will be announced following the next announcement, followed by years of bureaucratic delays of course.

And the @NDP is Opposed to it, of course
🚨BREAKING The federal NDP and Avi Lewis @avilewis just released a statement opposing the new pacific link pipeline and demanding it be halted. They oppose Alberta's Pacific Link pipeline and they will do everything in their power to kill it. Understand what this means... This would kill 140,000 jobs. Stop tens of billions in new wealth for Albertans to build things like hospitals and schools. Lost jobs and lower paycheques for Alberta families. Today I am calling on Naheed Nenshi @nenshi to do what he should have done a long time ago. Cut ties with his boss, Avi Lewis and the federal NDP. Officially, formally, in writing today. A clean break, right down to the name of their party. Not doing so tells Albertans all they need to know about where the NDP stands on Alberta energy… which is “leave it in the ground”.

Carney's pronunciamentos are like the Cheshire Cat. No substance and only the grin remains. This Carney is total bullshit. Nothing done since became PM. Promises and pie in the sky announcements? Oh yeah. And hey, what about all those MOU's? Elbozos got played, bigtime.

So it took him a year and 8 months just to get a pipeline on the table, and now another year before it’s fully approved? And this is a government owned pipeline !?? Lightning speed folks.
