Mandating us to wake an hour early all of winter in cold darkness would not create “an extra hour of daylight”! Restore permanent Standard Time instead.
For many Americans, an extra hour of daylight means more time to play outside with their kids, walk their dog, or spend time with neighbors. Americans work hard, and they deserve more free time to enjoy all the outdoors has to offer. It’s time to pass my Sunshine Protection Act they can enjoy every ounce of sunshine!

Actually, papal infallibility is significantly constrained and rigorously restricted. It’s not nearly the broad and virtually limitless construct asserted by so many on both the right and (since Francis) on the left.
Replying to @pluant
The notion that infallibility is so narrowed and limited is itself a modern invention, foreign to the mind of the prior tradition. For example, the notion that councils are fallible in faith and morals unless faith and morals are taught therein “definitively.” This is contrary to the understanding of the prior tradition. But more relevant here, is the notion that the ordinary magisterium can persist in errors. Which is what you are accusing. Nothing in the tradition allowed for this.

So Marc Eliar (I meant that to be an R not an S. Not a typo: Marc EliaR) thinks I need to go to jail because I said that Secretary of Commerce has legal authority and duty UNDER FEDERAL LAW to mandate oversight of voting machines. (I will turn to Stuart Stevens in a moment) Marc Eliar falsely accused me of saying @howardlutnick should “seize the voting machines”. No. I didn’t. I’ve never said that. I don’t think that. I don’t even know what that means in real life. I said, truthfully the following: 1. The Commerce Secretary has certain authority to act in the election infrastructure arena because our damn voting systems we use in every state in America are manufactured in whole or in part in CHINA- a foreign adversary as so defined in FEDERAL law. 2. Pres Trump invoked the National Emergency Act of 1976 on May 15, 2019 to order the Commerce Dept to promulgate regulations to oversee and mandate protection against vulnerabilities, threats, and risks associated with the use of Information and Communications Technology Services (ICTS) - which includes electronic voting systems. Those are the ICTS regulations. 3. People demanding that @realDonaldTrump declare a national emergency don’t realize he already did that. The ICTS regulations resulting from that declaration on May 15, 2019 were finalized by the Biden Administration and became law in February 2024. 4. Secretary Lutnick has all the legal authority already he needs to MANDATE to states actions to ensure the electronic voting systems are not accessed or manipulated by bad actors. He has a duty to take those actions. 5. What actions so far? - Do what the GA State Board of Elections has requested and require installation of the software that closes the 9 vulnerabilities identified by Dr Halderman and CISA in 2022. - mandate the manual hand count verification of ballots recommended by DHS. Do you see anything in this that comes anywhere close to suggesting the “seizure” of voting machines? I don’t. But. Marc Eliar makes his money lying. He’s been sanctioned by at least one court for making false statements to the Court. I will find and post that order. Marc Eliar hates the idea that some of us are on to the election corruption he has promoted for more than a decade. Bring it on, Eliar. We are sick of your arrogant disregard of the wishes of the vast majority of Americans who want honest elections that accurately reflect the will of the people. News flash for Marc Eliar: We. Are. Not. Stopping. @EIwatchdogs @EagleEdMartin @greg_price11 @Bannons_WarRoom @BasedMikeLee @seanmdav @jsolomonReports @bennyjohnson
BANNON: Stuart Stevens and Marc Elias want state AGs to hit Cleta Mitchell, Tina Peters, WarRoom, and everyone in this coalition fighting voter fraud with RICO charges. Bring it. We’re not stopping. We’re relentless. We’re not going to let you steal any more elections.

Funny how otherwise sensible writers NEVER mention the massive wealth transfer coming up when all those greedy boomers croak.
On average, Boomers are getting paid more from Social Security than they “paid into it.” A lot more. Like double, and that’s counting inflation and interest. In raw dollars, they’ll get four to seven times what they paid in. So what about this compromise, to at least stave off insolvency and save billions: you get back what you paid in, but no more. Young families won’t be forced to finance a 250 percent return on your “investment.” That seems extremely reasonable, doesn’t it? It doesn’t go nearly as far as I would like. But it’s a very fair compromise. It completely negates any claim that you didn’t get the money back that you “paid in.” And yet I suspect that this comprise will not be satisfactory. Why is that? Because this debate actually has nothing to do with “getting back what you paid in.” The REAL demand is for a lot more than that.

Wisconsin butter. Steak 'n Shake.
Starting today, all Steak n Shake buns are officially seed-oil free. The buns are now unapologetically drenched in pure Grade AA Wisconsin butter. The grass-fed, grass-finished Steakburger in a seed-oil-free bun is a new level of quality. Steak n Shake is breaking new ground with tastier, healthier options at affordable prices. 🇺🇸 MAHA 🇺🇸

"Lack of enthusiasm" is no surprise at all. Crowley is a dud in SO many ways. He ain't no Hong and the kids will only vote Hong.
The drop in Madison is 29%, Milwaukee 19.7%. @WisGOP says a sign Dems lack enthusiasm. @WisDems says likely continued return to pre-pandemic behavior. Early, in-person voting starts Oct. 20. Will provide a better picture of what's going on with early vote in Wisconsin.
