EXPLOSION SHUTS DOWN VENEZUELA'S SECOND-LARGEST OIL REFINERY A fire broke out in a gas line at the Cardon refinery in Punto Fijo, Falcón state, forcing the facility to suspend operations, Reuters reports. The refinery can process up to 300,000 barrels of oil per day when fully operational. No casualties have been reported so far, and the cause of the gas-line fire remains unclear as officials assess the damage.
