BREAKING: 🇬🇧 A village has been evacuated amid a major incident at RAF Fairford, with residents being ordered to leave their homes as armed police and emergency services respond in the area.
Police have been going door-to-door in Whelford, including around Horcott Road, while roads have been closed and a cordon established.
The operation follows the arrest of several men on suspicion of offences under the UK’s explosives legislation. The Army’s specialist Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is examining a number of vehicles, while residents are being taken to a nearby leisure centre.
Several ambulances, including HART vehicles, fire engines and specialist emergency-response units are also at the scene.
Authorities say they believe the incident is contained and are working with partner agencies.

The proposed legislation seeks to establish the strictest weather-modification bans in the United States to protect delicate ecosystems and salmon habitats from unregulated atmospheric testing.
By imposing criminal penalties and reporting requirements, the act aims to shift control of the skies from private corporations back to Alaskan residents and state regulators.
Ultimately, the movement emphasizes self-government and ecological preservation over the commercial interests of outside tech firms.

He’s doing almost everything we wish to see transpire in the West, and he started from a substantially worse position than any Western nation.
The aesthetics, the national mythos, the nod to history and tradition, the beautiful architecture, the brutalizing of criminals, and the orientation of a nation and people back towards that which rests above and beyond man. All of it is what the present hour calls for.

The American who was the inspiration for James Bond.
Ian Fleming explicitly modeled the appearance of his spy on composer and actor Hoagy Carmichael. In the 1952 novel “Casino Royale”, fictional characters Vesper Lynd and René Mathis both remark that Bond bears a striking facial resemblance to the star. Vesper notes that while Bond looks exactly like him, he also carries "something cold" in his expression. Fleming returned to the comparison in his third Bond novel, “Moonraker.” The author envisioned Bond with dark, rugged, good looks featuring sharp cheekbones. Biographers have noted that Carmichael's bone structure bore a distinct resemblance to that of Ian Fleming himself, making 007 a subtle visual self-portrait of the author. So far no Bond actor has looked like Carmichael, but Henry Cavill would fit the bill better than most.
