This man is politicising our children’s education and leading his union against our country’s interests. When are the many good people who teach going to realise their unions have abandoned their core purpose of representing their profession, their freedom of conscience and the quality of their service to children and families? How interesting you have that view, I don’t believe I have ever made such a comment… can you point to what makes you state this so I can address it in detail? And it is even more interesting that you thought to assert that view on this thread, where it is not even part of the issue. Are we to infer from your assertion then, that those who don’t favour ‘gay rights’ (if that were even true in my case) are somehow disqualified from commenting or being listened to regarding child safeguarding policies and the success (or indeed lack of success) of the SM campaign? Perhaps you are revealing here precisely how putting ‘gay rights’ and ‘women’s rights’ - as part of a myopic support for abstract ‘rights based governance’ altogether - before the realism and pragmatism needed for safeguarding, is causing SM, LGBA and other liberal GCs to make terrible strategic mistakes?

Once again Sex Matters sanitises with weak critique. Forget this silly guidance, the EHRC and the Equality Act themselves are not fit for schools or children at all, nor indeed British liberty and democracy. Together they don’t just ‘risk steering them into unlawful discrimination’, they are inherently corruptible and an anti democratic, safeguarding disaster… not least because they were created with ulterior motives by a mixture of political radicals and people with serious disorders, who targeted children to aid the mainstreaming of their neo Marxist politics and dodgy proclivities. The PC of GR effectively casts children as Transsexual from any age, and via the PSED it tasks exponents of the state with the duty to act upon that fallacy. Trying to stuff that madness back in the box with incrementally tightened guidance is itself just negligent. But SM repeatedly overlook this extraordinarily dangerous ideological legal instrument embedded in the EA2010. Worrying about single sex sports is the very least of the issues that these rotten ideas cause in schools - we need to be asking how a child can ever be on a path to Transsexualism and why a school should ever consider this idea real. What is needed is a criminal prohibition on any of these ideas or practices taking place near children. Meanwhile, the rest of the Equality Act was designed as a kind of proto socialist bill of rights, aimed at converting the govt and public servants into a socialist authority with the duty and mandate to ‘equalise’ others according to class categories - inline with anti democratic international Human Rights governance that exceeds our own democracy and jurisdiction. This is a project doomed to failure, as all authoritarian socialist endeavours have been, not least because it collapses equality before the law. The deep problems occurring in education - namely, of political and sexual indoctrination - are the direct results of pushing the EA2010 into schools, which was done in 2014 with the Equality Act in Schools Advice. That truly crazy document, which centres heavily on Gender Reassignment and directs schools to GIRES for advice, is still current and devastatingly misleading, no matter what fudge the unelected bods at the EHRC cook up in their new ‘guidance’. Loopholes abound for the ideologically possessed to utilise, where they have parents willing to ‘trans’ their children. This entire architecture of queer socialist rubbish just needs to go.

(You cannot make this madness up.) Still, as usual, the completely absurd thrashing about in court by @SexMattersOrg has at least served to make it even clearer that what urgently needs to happen is a repeal of the GRA and the PC of GR, followed by the complete dismantling of any formal recognition of ‘gender idenity’ in law, guidance and public service, plus the prosecution of anyone who attempts to indoctrinate kids or vulnerable people with this nonsense.

There need not be an either/or here. Reform should repeal the HRA, GRA and EA2010, exit ECHR, repair British sovereignty, then legislate for the compulsory provision of adequate single sex spaces, and to prohibit the violation of single sex spaces. This is not rocket science.

Impressed by @SuellaBraverman for discussing this so truthfully. It seems we have a lot of rethinking to do about protecting motherhood, how women can work, and how women share power with men. I’m also glad @cathynewman thought to mention Ann Widdecombe with regard to the dangers of being in politics today, which is particularly worrying for a parent who has dependent young children. All of this raises huge questions about preserving a civilised society, with no clear solutions apparent yet. But what it does achieve, is to pierce the ideological grip of feminism and try to start a realistic and pragmatic dialogue about motherhood, the workplace and power, which I appreciate. It is brave to raise difficult issues you cannot fully answer but which you know need addressing.
