UPDATE ON THE WAR IMPOSED BY THE KINSHASA REGIME
October 7, 2026
1. This Wednesday, October 7, 2026, since 4:30 AM, the coalition forces of the Kinshasa regime, primarily elements of the FDLR, have been engaging in acts of destruction in Shanje and its surroundings within the Kalehe territory.
Several civilian homes have been set on fire, as well as the local market, further depriving the population of their property, livelihoods, and commercial spaces.
Additional information regarding the extent of the damage and any potential casualties will be communicated at a later time.
2. Since Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM, and continuing up to the present moment, the Kinshasa regime's forces are persisting in their bombardments against Rugezi and its surroundings in the Minembwe region, using kamikaze drones.
It is important to emphasize that these repeated ceasefire violations were recorded during the African Union delegation's stay in Goma, who arrived as part of the efforts to promote a political solution to the conflict.
The continuation of these operations despite the presence of this delegation highlights the severity of the situation.
The AFC-M23 reaffirms that the protection of civilian populations remains an absolute priority.
Its forces remain mobilized and stand ready to defend the populations against any aggression with discipline, professionalism, and determination.
