For my fellow revisionist history fans, here are two books from my library that seemed appropriate to share with you on a day like today. 😄 You may think I'm throwing shade on our boy Christopher. I'm not! These were brought to my attention by the late, great historian, theologian, economist and prolific purveyor of unpopular opinions, @DrGaryNorth/@GaryNorthRecon 🫡 I bought them. Some day I plan to actually read them. Happy COLUMBUS DAY to my fellow Americans (and to all the inhabitants of the "New World!") 🎉🛶⚓️

When you see a gaggle of hombres nearby who seem to have your untimely demise in mind, you might react the way George Clooney did. "We're in a tight spot!" Say it three times. 😆 youtube.com/watch?v=nAh5sY4f…

Dinner at the office this evening… Two 75/25 hamburger patties sautéed in butter, seasoned with salt and Cayenne pepper, one Chicago beef frank, a little mustard and sauerkraut on top. Easy prep and mouth-wateringly delicious. Total cost: a little over five bucks. Bon appetit!

Most comedians have (or had) a sanitized, "clean" version of their performances for network TV and mainstream audiences. I like almost all of the top comedians since the 1950s--including the more recent ones except when they lapse into fits of profanity and lewd spasms of obscenity and vulgarity. Then they are not so funny to me. They become annoying. For that reason, I wouldn't mind a front-row seat to see this comedy legend--sadly, deceased in 2024 at the age of 94--about whose routine you would never have to worry and wonder, "Hmm, can I take my kids to see this guy?" The greatest Christian apologist of the 20th century? I move that we nominate the following two men as the greatest Christian apologists of the 20th century: 🔹 Greg Bahnsen 🔹 Cornelius Van Til But if I had to choose between them, my vote would go to the eminent Westminster Seminary scholar, professor, pastor and consummate Christian apologist extraordinaire, Dr. Cornelius "There is no neutrality" Van Til (PhD, Princeton)! 🗳️

1974 Chevy Nova 2-door coupe. Metallic brown with white vinyl top. Brown/tan cloth interior. Paid $750 cash for it in 1981. Bought it with money saved from my part-time job as busboy at @redlobster. My pride and joy in college until it got stolen one fine day from a parking lot and stripped clean! 😡
What was your very first car? Be specific as to color and interior.

Now you know why homeschooling in America has been growing by leaps and bounds. This problem goes back at least to the 1940s and 50s with the the introduction of "sight reading" and the abandonment of phonics instruction as the norm. Rudolph Flesch called this out seven decades ago with his ground-breaking book, "Why Johnny Can't Read." I read that book in the 1980s. It's one of the reasons I and my wife homeschooled our two kids during their early academic journey. The days of centralized, industrial-age education are coming to an end. We are at the dawn of an age of DE-CENTRALIZED, self-paced, non-government-funded, privately-controlled (by families) education of our children. And their children. It's about time.
I literally can’t believe what I just watched Michigan is ranked 44th in 4th grade reading nationally and only 38% of 3rd graders are proficient in reading So lawmakers passed a new law. Now in schools students will be taught to sound out words…. This had been moved away from and instead students were being told to just use a different word if they didn’t know how to pronounce the word they were trying to read I can’t believe this is how low we’ve sunk as a country…… Teacher in Michigan explains how they have been teaching. “So if the sentence was, "We are meeting after school," and a student got to the word ‘meeting’ and they didn't know how to read the word ‘meeting,’ I might have said, "Use the words that you do know.” Whoever has done this to our education system needs to be locked up. This is clearly intentionally destroying our kids education

Congr. Massie, would you please sponsor a House resolution that mandates every member of Congress to procure a copy of Prof. Mearsheimer's book, The Israel Lobby, to read it, issue a statement on it and possibly debate the merits of it? That would be great... Thank you for your attention to this matter.
