See, here's the problem, and it's a big one:
Federal law actually prohibits immigrants (legal or illegal) from going on welfare. The latest loopholes were closed in the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, signed by Bill Clinton.
(note that legal immigrants can get assistance under certain circumstances, after a 5-year waiting period.)

If true, things are about to get spicy among the AI Poohbahs... they thought they had their scheme all sewn up.
JUST IN: Trump shut down the AI slowdown proposal, one day after the 3 biggest lab CEOs all called for it.
His words: "We're leading China in AI, we're the most sophisticated country in the world. And frankly, I want to keep it that way because whoever wins AI, wins."
He called the people raising safety concerns "negative forces" bringing up "things that won't happen."
Those negative forces are Amodei, Altman and Musk, who between them run the 3 leading labs in the country.
Congress split immediately. Mike Johnson says regulation would "smother American innovation." Hakeem Jeffries wants "decisive action."
Analysts have been warning a forced slowdown would hit data centre spending, and data centre spending is what's been carrying tech valuations.

When companies go public they must file paperwork disclosing their financials.
Doing so would expose the massive cash burn OpenAI is using. Therefore, Sam Altman can't go public but he also has run out of money.
Enter "whistle blower" Jacob Coxon.
It made no sense how an obscure nobody got 165 million views on his first X post saying AI could kill us all. Then he was on every news station within 48 hours, scaring the public.
This was a psyop to "regulate" the AI companies... aka give them government funding to "protect the public from the dangers of AI."
BREAKING: Sam Altman says OpenAI will not go public this year due to "safety concerns."

Democrats aren't fighting the Oligarchy. They ARE the Oligarchy! You merely exist to fund their lavish lifestyles.

Wyden acting like Oregon just got mugged by Republicans.
That $1.3B is the price of keeping one of the most generous Medicaid setups in the country after the feds put limits on work, six-month checks, and the tax tricks used to pull extra federal money.
Princeton says ~200k could come off.
Some of that is people the new rules won’t match federally, so they drop onto Healthier Oregon — the state program that covers people regardless of status.
Oregon built that.
D.C. just stopped writing blank checks for it.
Work requirements and actual reviews aren’t “brutal cuts.”
That’s able-bodied adults having to show they did something besides collect.
Rural hospitals get squeezed either way because the old model didn’t add up.
Keep fighting to reverse accountability.
