Women are dying because of abortion bans.
Doctors shouldn’t be forced to delay life-saving care out of fear of criminal prosecution. Healthcare decisions belong to women and their doctors, not politicians.
To treat an ectopic pregnancy, which is almost never viable, doctors must terminate it.
But medical providers are hesitating or flat-out refusing to do that in states where they face criminal penalties for performing an abortion, lawsuits allege.

I toured the Atlanta Birth Center — a place directly fighting maternal and infant mortality rates one birth at a time in the #FightingFifth. Between meeting their phenomenal staff and a days-old baby, I got to see their facilities and the mama- and baby-centered care they provide.
Unfortunately, they’ll be pausing services in October as they search for a more affordable location. We must invest more in operations like this and in the safety of our mamas across the country. We cannot afford to lose vital community resources like the Atlanta Birth Center.
