All states, including the USA, should enforce the Court’s arrest warrants and hand over Netanyahu to the ICC. International law must be upheld and international justice mechanisms supported to end impunity for international crimes and ensure respect for human rights for all.

Among them was a 32-year-old man in critical condition, with multiple shrapnel wounds to his face and neck, as well as other injuries. A seven-year-old child also arrived with multiple shrapnel wounds caused by the force of the explosion.  “We all felt scared when we heard the sound of explosions, we all have families who live close to the site of the explosion, and we were worried about them. But as a medical team, the patient comes first and we provided the best care for all cases. Over the course of an hour, we stabilised all of the patients and referred them to Nasser hospital for further treatment. “We were glad we managed to treat the people who were injured yesterday, but every healthcare facility in Gaza is overwhelmed because of the Israeli restrictions on supplies. We are short of even the most basic medicines and equipment, such as gauze, and at any moment generators can break down because of the lack of engine oil and spare parts. We desperately need to see more medical and logistic supplies enter Gaza.”

Just a reminder of how aid was actually delivered in Gaza last year. The GHF sites were placed inside "militarised zones", often several kilometres from the tent camps. Getting there meant walking through areas the ITF had declared combat zones. The people who made that trip were overwhelmingly men and teenage boys—the ones physically able to cover the distance and take the risk. Families stayed behind and waited, knowing some who left never came back. Soldiers who served near the sites later described the crowd-control method to Haaretz as a deadly version of “red light, green light” (they called it “Operation Salted Fish”). Humanitarian groups called the sites death traps.

To understand what is happening in the West Bank today, listen to what Bezalel Smotrich said back in 2017 he intended to do. In the “Decisive Plan” he wrote, Smotrich openly articulated the logic of elimination in the West Bank: establishing permanent and irreversible Jewish control and sovereignty while dismantling Palestinian collective existence. One of the plan’s central tools is “victory through settlement”: expanding settlements and taking over land in order to make Jewish sovereignty an irreversible fact and prevent the possibility of a contiguous, independent Palestinian existence. The plan leaves Palestinians with three options: relinquish their national aspirations and live under Jewish supremacy, leave, or be defeated by force if they resist. Smotrich did not invent this project, and the current government did not start it. The plan was also never formally adopted as government policy. But today, Smotrich holds extensive powers over the West Bank, and central elements of this vision are being translated into policy, budgets and action on the ground. Land takeovers, expanding settlements and outposts, expelling communities and deepening Israeli control are not separate events. They are part of the same political project.
