Yesterday afternoon, I participated in the High-Level Meeting on the implementation of the Pact for the Future in Africa, hosted by the President of Namibia. If well implemented, it will enhance prosperity for Africa’s youth and help relieve African countries of the debt burden.

🇺🇬📷 Uganda Calls for Stronger Regional Action Against Terrorism. while making an intervention on behalf of the @GovUganda delegation at the 1369th Ministerial Meeting of the @_AfricanUnion Peace and Security Council in New York, H.E. @Rotengo2, Permanent Representative of Uganda to the AU and ECA, underscored the importance of good neighbourliness, intelligence-sharing, coordinated border governance and collective action in addressing terrorism and violent extremism. She called for stronger AU and regional mechanisms, sustainable financing for African-led peace and security initiatives, and greater community participation in building a peaceful and secure Africa.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. @adoniaayebare, met with H.E. @ymahmoudali, Chairperson of the @_AfricanUnion Commission, in New York. They discussed the work of the African Union and the challenges and opportunities facing the continent. Hon. Ayebare reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to advancing the AU’s mandate and continental priorities.

Uganda joined a number of countries at the East-West Africa Amalgamation Forum which opened today at the Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa. The weeklong event under the theme: “Connecting East and West Africa through Trade, Tourism, Investment and Culture” is organized by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Motherland Beckons, Ipada Initiatives, and Accelerating Africa's Growth Connect (AAGC). Addis Ababa, long considered the seat of convergence of the African continent provided the perfect symbolic backdrop for an event building bridges from Africa's east to the west coast. Ms. Hope Waira Senior Investment Officer at the @ugandainvest pitched Uganda as the best investment destination with a great return on investment.

I am Happy to announce that the Friendly Government of India has decided to resume all Visa services (both e-Visa and Regular Visa) for the nationals of Uganda. However, some public health actions i.e., Declaration such as Self Declaration Form, Thermal Screening and Health Monitoring of travellers from Uganda. This to thank my Friend and Brother the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish for facilitating this. Brig. Gen. Kenneth Muheire, the Special Envoy of the Chief of Defence Forces of @MODVA_UPDF @mkainerugaba, paid a courtesy call to Gen. Cheick Dembele, the Head of the Peace Support Operations Division. Discussions focused on the proposed Conference on Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW), including its objectives and areas of potential collaboration. Opening the discussions, Maj. Gen. David Kasura Kyomukama, PS @MAAIF_Uganda, highlighted Uganda’s growing agrifood potential: the country exported more than 9.3 million 60-kg bags of coffee in FY2025/26, generating about US$2.5 billion, while annual milk production has surpassed 5.4 billion litres. The Permanent Mission of Uganda to the Afrtican Union in Addis Ababa, extends heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, the people of Tooro and all Ugandans following the passing of His Majesty Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. His Majesty’s life and service to the Kingdom of Tooro and Uganda will be remembered for his humility, dignity and commitment. Under the mentorship of H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni, he built cultural bridges across communities in Uganda, Africa and internationally, from a very young age. His Majesty championed Uganda’s youth to embrace agriculture for socio-economic transformation, while protecting and promoting culture and heritage. He served as UNAIDS Youth Ambassador in the fight against HIV/AIDS. May the Almighty grant comfort and strength to the Royal Family, the people of Tooro and the nation of Uganda during this difficult time.
