According to police, the suspect was in a queue with other asylum seekers when he was allegedly overheard making remarks about harming Ngobese-Zuma. Her husband, Xolani Zuma, and police officers nearby reportedly heard the remarks and alerted law enforcement. Officers arrested the suspect at the scene. He faces charges related to intimidation and incitement to violence. The incident occurred amid heightened tensions outside refugee reception centres in KwaZulu-Natal.
