Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit CMHA Thames Valleys’ Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic in London as part of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario’s “Take Your MPP to Work Day.” This walk-in clinic reduces barriers to addiction treatment by providing timely access to medication-assisted treatment that can help ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings, along with one-on-one mental health support, housing resources, connections to other services and more. The team works to meet people where they are and provide support that addresses the many challenges that can come with addiction and recovery. Thank you to the entire team for taking the time to show me the remarkable work happening at the clinic and for the dedication and compassion you bring to supporting people in the community. It was a valuable opportunity to learn more about how these services are making a difference.

Affordable child care means more savings for Whitby families.    The Government of Canada and Ontario have reached a $12 billion, four-year extension agreement to keep child care fees at an average of $19 a day, saving families nearly $9,000 per child each year.   This agreement will help create 86,000 new child care spaces across Ontario, supporting Whitby families, parents in the workforce, and child care providers in our community.  💪❤️

Shocking. The Foreign Influence Transparency Commissioner has revealed that only THIRTY out of an estimated 2422 foreign agents have complied with the requirement to register with Canada’s Foreign Influence Registry. Despite registration being MANDATORY, the registry virtually exists in name only.
