Zurich insurance offers lower insurance premiums if you use Tesla supervised self-driving
Tesla FSD just reached a pretty important milestone in Australia 🇦🇺 Zurich has become the first Australian insurer to recognize FSD Supervised as reducing driving risk....and that is now being reflected in lower insurance pricing for Tesla owners Australian Teslas have already driven more than 132 MILLION km using FSD And the safety data shows around 7× fewer major and minor collisions with FSD engaged Insurance companies price risk with real money....if they’re lowering the cost, the safety data is speaking for itself FSD is now turning better safety into lower ownership costs for Tesla drivers

Underwriters putting a number on FSD risk is a bigger tell than another safety chart. Once premiums move, the “is it real” debate gets boring fast.

That’s a big step forward. Lower insurance costs could make supervised self-driving even more appealing to everyday drivers.

insurers putting real money on the 7x safer number is the signal that matters. 132 million km is hard to ignore.

Tesla should offer this in the US. I drive almost 100% of the time on FSD. My insurance is way too expensive for a safety score of 100.

I have Tesla Insurance — and the rates are excellent compared to other companies in the U.S.

Not sure I understand Tesla not offering its own insurance for those using FSD. If an accident happens while fsd is running no deductible. If you are not using fsd there is a deductible. Your insurance rate would vary depending on percentage of usage with fsd vs without. Just an idea. @elonmusk

I was an insurance adjuster and claims director 15 years. I never had a single Zurich claim where they paid a claim without a fight. Do not insure with Zurich.

This is actually a big deal. If insurers start rewarding FSD usage, do you think this becomes the norm in other countries too?

People will get Zurich Insurance and then will disable the FSD. So there should be a handshake checker required all the time between insurance and FSD.

@elonmusk It’s a significant (and very sensible) decision and yet another reason for @TeslaAUNZ and @Tesla_AI to get FSD lite DU out to HW3 cars in Aus soon! I’ll be locked in when it arrives

In some countries, insurance is extremely expensive for young people who have just got their driver’s licence. This could be a game changer for that target group. #Tesla
