Oof, here we go again. NYPD also has a branch in Jordan, which isn't a democracy and has a secret state police that can disappear people. Oh, and it trains with Qatari security services, where leaving Islam is illegal, as is being pregnant while unmarried. And with Mexico, come to think of it, where extrajudicial killings by police are a national scourge. It's amazing how through the fog of their ideological war, only Israel is ever visible? None of this is about policing. It's about Jews.

I think NYPD gets some value from those programs, from tactics to intelligence-sharing. And I think it's a smart enough organization not to learn the bad things from its partners - whether it's disappearing dissidents in Qatar or arresting people for tweeting in Britain. But honestly, I don't really care about the exchanges. Neither Israel Police nor NYPD actually need them all that much. It's also a tiny program, maybe two dozen officers a year in an NYPD force that numbers 34,000. My point isn't about the program itself, but about the insane selectivity of the progressive complaint, which demonstrates that this isn't about policing at all, but about Jews.

You make some decent arguments why police shouldn't train with several countries. You do ignore that neither of those countries are currently actively involved in what by all experts opinions must be deemed war crimes at least and very likely amounts to genocide.

"All expert opinions" that happened to be the only opinions platformed by the news media you happen to consume, but whatever. I hear the challenge and I accept it. The NYPD trained with UAE. Now Google the role of the UAE in Yemen and Sudan. And while training with UAE, some pretty shady Chechen forces were part of that training. If you want to argue that NYPD shouldn't train with other security forces generally - either any at all, or any that anyone anywhere has a problem with (so basically exclusively Belgian police), that's fine. But they never actually care about policing. The only problem they ever have is with Israel.

a. The campaign against NYPD training with Israel predates Ben-Gvir (who is very much the asshole everyone claims, I agree on that) and predates the war by many years. b. The NYPD trains with forces involved in much, much bigger wars. Google the Yemen War. c. Even Hamas doesn't claim it's 60,000 civilians.

The NYPD does not have a “branch” in Jordan. It has detective liaisons embedded with the Jordanian Police in Ammon The NYPD presence in Israel has always been more controversial because they have an entire branch they opened in Israel for enhanced cooperation.
