Trump says that Russia “frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much." Notably, a Russian strike on a park in Ukraine's Kharkiv Oblast today killed six people, including three children.

“WHY?” It is very heartbreaking to read this handwriting letter. That was the last question 25-year-old Majid Nikandish asked the night before the Islamic Republic executed him: “Tonight, I feel like a little child terrified of an injection. Only one question is on my mind: Why?” We, the people of Iran, are living in horror. Every day, another execution. Another mother destroyed. Another life stolen. In his final letter he asked his mother to smile at his funeral. “I, Majid Nikandish, leave the few belongings I have in prison as keepsakes for my family. Hello, my dear Mom. I know you have had a very difficult life. I’m sorry if I wasn’t a good son. Please forgive me. Please don’t be sad. Stay strong, and please be happy at my funeral. Take care of Mahnaz, Abolfazl, and Razieh. Tonight, I feel like a little child who is afraid of getting an injection. There is only one question left in my mind: WHY? To my sisters, Mahnaz and Razieh, I love you so much. To my brother, Abolfazl, I love you so much. I miss you all. My final wish is that you take care of one another and stay together, no matter what.” Why did he have to die? Why was his life stolen? Why must another mother bury her child? I have no answer for his mother. We have no answer to his brother and sisters. But let’s ask this question to the leaders of the democratic world: Why are you silent? Why don’t you stop legitimizing the regime that is hanging innocent protesters every day? Don’t look away. Don’t leave the people of Iran alone with their executioners. Say his name. Majid Nikandish. And make the world answer his final question: WHY? #MajidNikandish #StopExecutionsInIran

🚨RAPED BEFORE EXECUTION: That's the destiny reserved for Niloufar Esfahani. She is only 18 years old and comes from Qazvin, in Iran. In January 2026, she was arrested together with her mother during the nationwide protests against the Islamic regime. Her only “crime” was asking for freedom and dignity. A few days later, the revolutionary court sentenced her to death by hanging. But before killing her, according to reports from activists and historical testimonies from Iranian prisons, they intend to rape her. Why? Because Niloufar is a virgin. According to a distorted and barbaric religious belief, a virgin girl who is executed would go straight to paradise. For this reason, in the past and still today, virgin female prisoners are systematically raped before execution: to “send them to hell” instead of paradise. This is a practice documented for decades and confirmed even by former officials of the regime itself. She is a girl like so many others, with her whole life ahead of her, who is about to be crushed by the ayatollahs’ killing machine. Thoughts?

Don't cry, Baba. 😔💔 Hours before his execution, Alireza Raeisi was allowed one final phone call from Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. His father was crying on the line. So Alireza, with hours left to live, tried to comfort the man who raised him. "What can I do, Baba. They want to take my whole life from me." Then he asked for one last message: "Say hello to my uncle. Tell him I'm looking after Ramin over there." Ramin was his cousin. The son of that same uncle. He was shot dead in the streets of Isfahan during the protests. Now the regime has hanged the other one. At dawn. In secret. This is what the Islamic Republic calls justice: 18 days of torture. Electric shocks. A forced confession. A trial lasting minutes. An appeal thrown out in less than 48 hours. A gallows built beside a Revolutionary Guard executioner. They think the rope will end the uprising. The rope is only creating more anger towards society. When I talk to any of the family members of those who are in prison on the death road, they have a simple demand: tel the world: #StopExecutionsInIran, demand accountability for these unlawful executions. Sanction the judges and executioners. Silence is complicity. #AlirezaRaeisi

russia is packing Shaheds with shrapnel to maximize harm to civilians. A Shahed that fell in the Kyiv region today was packed with metal balls, designed to turn the blast into a deadly shower of fragments. This isn’t the first time. A deliberate tactic of terror. A war crime.

We are having to use drones to deliver any sort of aid and supplies into Oleshky. The situation has been terrible for many months, but has gotten far worse. People will starve to death here without urgent intervention. Where are you, United Nations? @UNReliefChief @antonioguterres
Chargé d’Affaires a.i. @DenysSienik about the situation in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian city of Oleshky: "It is unthinkable that, in the 21st century, people are being deliberately deprived of food, water, medicine, and basic medical care. Russia has deliberately created yet another humanitarian catastrophe in Oleshky – part of its persistent pattern of aggression: inflicting suffering on civilians, denying them the means to survive, and using human lives as a weapon. The people of Oleshky must not be abandoned or forgotten. They urgently need humanitarian assistance and a safe way out."

I’ve watched people walk out of the UN all week and I keep thinking the same thing: then what the hell is the point of the United Nations? You don’t have to agree. You don’t have to like what’s being said. But if countries can’t even sit in the same damn room and listen to each other, what exactly are we paying for? I’m tired of watching our tax dollars disappear into institutions that seem increasingly incapable of doing the very thing they were created to do. Wars everywhere. Countries refusing to listen to each other. Delegates walking out when they don’t like the speaker. And we call this the UNITED Nations? At some point you stop fixing something that clearly isn’t working. Dismantle it. Keep whatever actually serves a purpose and build something better. Because whatever the hell this is, it isn’t “united.” #ENDtheUN

Russia is committing genocide—today, right before our eyes. People are eating weeds because food supplies in occupied Oleshky, Ukraine, are all but exhausted, the BBC reports. Some residents are eating only once a day; the town has no electricity, water, or gas, shops are closed, and medicines are scarce. Leaving the town is also difficult, as the Russians have mined the roads and no humanitarian corridor has been agreed upon. 6,000 people remain in the town, including at least 200 children.
