3/ ⛽️ the Gas Usage: When observing transactions/blobs added per MPBC block, most have similar numbers of transactions added. However, some extreme outliers add far more transactions, with the top 1% of multi-party blocks exceeding 147% of gas added!

Multi-party block construction could make smaller builders more competitive. Builders earn when they contribute to other's blocks, or when others contribute to their blocks. -> The less flow a builder has, the higher the relative value that can be added to its blocks. -> The less likely a builder is to win a slot, the higher the relative revenue from adding TXs to others' blocks. Agree ETH-native institutions should be top priority for Ethereum

More and more I started to think of FOCIL as part of the block construction story in a broader distributed block building process, than as a consensus service tied to staking, PoS and the fork choice. I believe leveraging this will be key to 1) Make full use of a large community of passionate node runners who have Ethereum’s best interests at heart, boosting inclusion guarantees. What’s more important than helping users find their way onchain? 2) Achieving fast slots and fast finality to make Ethereum fast and increase network utility and value. Being slow can be a security issue for users, when third-party services fill gaps that the best version of Ethereum could fill itself.

Fully compatible. FOCIL guarantees inclusion for transactions the protocol is aware of. MPBC increases the probability of inclusion for transactions any builder is aware of.

Today I will be proposing faster slots for inclusion in Hegotá, to All Core Devs. Faster slots improve the value of Ethereum blockspace. This is value that accrues to Ethereum users, to the network as a whole, and to ETH in particular. While we cannot expect more than a moderate slot time reduction in Hegotá, there is a one-time cost to pay for any future slot time reductions, and Hegotá is likely the last window before long where it is sensible to pay this one-time cost. This opens the door for continuous improvements as fast finality, post-quantum and zk roadmaps progress.
