I think everyone will spend eternity exactly where they want to be.
It blows my mind that there are people walking around in everyday life thinking that ~80% of the other people in the world are going to be tortured and burned in hell by demons for literal eternity.

This is my point. Finally more are getting it:
Sure. Of course. But again, the men were heroes according to the consent-based sexual morality into which they were inculcated. They obtained consent, according to the whore, sex act by sex act, restraining their impulses while ranging beyond bourgeois sexuality with the continual permission of the "enlightened woman" and for her pleasure. So while I condemn the men and even condemn them for immorality, I mostly condemn them for imprudence and really have little appetite to condemn them nearly as harshly as the whore.

Naftali Bennett has branded one of the most influential Haredi rabbis in Israel, Dov Lando, as “antisemitic” What did Rabbi Lando say to earn this label? Lando proclaimed: “It’s possible, without a state [of Israel], to live well with the Arabs… to live, to respect the Arabs. It was pretty good when the Arabs were in charge. It was the best situation.” He added that the Zionists “made Arabs hate us.“ Lando went on to call for a peace deal with the Palestinians, and slammed Zionism for having “brought the physical disasters, not just the spiritual ones, to the Jewish people.” For these clear-eyed statements, Lando has become a public enemy denounced by politicians across the Zionist spectrum. The lesson is clear: even a senior rabbi is one of The Antisemites if he refuses to bow before the state of Israel and its genocidal army.

I don't understand what deer eat off my lawn. Where is the food on my lawn? Show me the food. Whatever it is, the deer seem to enjoy it. It's full of fertilizers and herbicides but . . . whatever they don't know can't hurt them.

Only a rare saint lives and dies for an abstract idea like “beautiful and true.” Ordinary people live and die for their families, friends, and communities. All three have been carelessly dismantled in recent decades. Families have been undermined because children have to move away to find decent jobs. Friendships have become shallow because job churn leads to lower investment in relationships, and local friend groups have been replaced by group chats with “best friends” that haven’t seen each other in years. Communities worthy of the name are almost non-existent, as frequent relocations create neighborhoods full of strangers. And at higher levels (eg, the nation), elites and creatives have for many years been unable to articulate a “we” that isn’t built on demonizing half or more of the population. On top of it all, the internet has made many young people borderline autistic in terms of their ability to form relationships, and to endure frustration, disappointment, failure, etc. People are isolated from each other, and the culture offers them nothing around which to rally except the temporary enthusiasm of divisive political causes. “Living and dying for the beautiful and true” is a nice-sounding phrase to promote a conservative book, but our time would be better spent worrying about record-high rates of suicide, depression, drug abuse, etc.

The SSPX treats the Pope like the sister at the DMV treats you when she sends you to the back of the line to restable your forms . . . but demands the whole Church treat the SSPX as always having a special permission from the "eternal Rome" for whatever law it wants to break.
Replying to @EVR_Forge
That's the SSPX's pharisaical claim they have no authority to advance to any effect. The fact of the matter comes from the Dicastery for the Doctrine of Faith, which did exactly what Pope Leo expressly warned he would do—rescind juridical faculties and excommunicate the SSPX—two days before it did so in an official decree: "Finally, the holy People of God are informed that the sacred ministers of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X administer the sacraments illicitly, and that the sacrament of Penance administered by them and the marriages at which they assist are invalid." If all this—the Pope's personal letter to the Superior General of the SSPX and the consequent official decree from the Dicastery of the Doctrine of Faith—had been to *grant* the SSPX faculties, I hardly think you'd so obtusely object. And when Fiducia supplicans is issued by the same dicastery under the same prefect, you exaggerate to your faithful its effect and spontaneously relieve yourself of your wont to view that Dicastery as effectless. Of course the Pope must personally invoke his magisterium. Of course the Pope may extend faculties to exercise the power of the Keys juridically, through curial decrees, and impersonally, by delegation—because the Keys are inherently jurisdictional and delegatory and we know that from Christ's own words. And if there really were some weird exception for some particular manner in which previously rescinded faculties were restored before being rescinded again, why don't you do the Pope the same favor you demand the whole Church do for you and supply the form for the Pope's intention: to deprive you of juridical facilities? A touch of sedevacantism, might it be? Do you treat any of your preferred popes with such ball busting? (How 'bout the Syllabus of Errors? Show me Pope Pius IX's signature on that document: it's not there. But you love that curial document. Pick and choose. Pick and fuckin' choose. But I digress . . . .) The argument you posit for your blatant and insolent disobedience is absurd. Your posting suggests you live in a rural area. Accept my sincere condolences if an SSPX chapel is the only Latin Mass nearby.

This is the second mention of this I've heard from an SSPX-goer. It seems the SSPX is telling its adherents that Catholic priests are obliged to bless any homosexual couple who asks to be blessed, which is of course totally false. And a strange thing to lie about.
Well. Like I said. Dress snappy for your the gay blessing your parish priest will have to perform when asked to. Time to mute “Mr Catholic “

And that squares up the theological point framing my article: I doubt the SSPX priests actually have supernatural faith. I doubt they really believe that God himself handed this supernatural power called the Keys to St. Peter, and that only by this supernatural power can the humanly impossible be accomplished: the absolution of sins. Because if they really believed that, they'd tell every one of their faithful to head down the street to the FSSP parish for their confessions. But they don't. Why? Because in place of the Keys, apparently, they believe that being a good priest—being a better priest—being smarter, more courageous, more faithful, and more learned—is what gives one the power to absolve sins and do whatever else a minster would do, such as celebrate weddings or consecrate bishops. That ain't what does it. Ours is a supernatural faith that agrees with the Israelites on the impossibility of saving ourselves from our own faults—agrees with the Israelites on the impossibility of matching God in any respect and of the immensity of disobeying him in any matter—and relies entirely on a supernatural Christ for our otherwise impossible justification. Being a better priest than another priest is not a supernatural accomplishment. Any man, given enough talent and ambition, can do it. The SSPX does not seem to understand that the Keys are Christ's merits, and he gives them to whom he pleases for reasons beyond our understanding. "How could we not have the power of the Keys? How could Pope Leo have taken it away from us? We're better priests than he is! It's impossible: of course we still have the power of the Keys. We follow the laws!" Nigga that is not how a Catholic or even a Christian is supposed to reason. Now of course they'll say "no, that's not what we think." Of course it is. You say there is an "emergency" that supplies the power of the Keys even over the Pope's recission of that power, even though he stands in the line of St. Peter to whom Christ gave the Keys. And what, pray tell, is the "emergency" and why, because of it, is jurisdiction supplied to *you?* "Why it's because Pope Leo and his bishops are such bad priests and we're such better ones." Fuck outta here with that. Insulting. SSPX-goers should be smarter than that, especially when they have an FSSP parish down the street.

I'm arguing with self-described traditional Catholics (from the SSPX) about the need to go to valid confession. What are we even doing here?

Kids need to start school at 7:30 so their Girlboss single moms can be at fake emails jobs by 9. Everything is broken because we decided it would be less hassle to destroy civilization than to tell women to sit down and shut up.
One thing that always gets lost in this debate: School starts WAY too early. There's no law of nature requiring 5-year-olds to be in class by 7:30 a.m., which is obscene. Instead of making everyone endure 4:45 p.m. sunsets, just...send kids to school later.

Above the Law has an article with a survey of lawyers from top firms to glean when they get in to and leave from the office, generally. I know that we lawyers aren’t known for our love of math, but I think we probably need to stop the charade of calling these great paying jobs when you’re forced to slave away for nearly 12 hours per day, not leaving the office till 10pm or later(!). One firm at the top did beat 10pm by 5 minutes. Because the number of hours worked is the denominator. And no matter how nice the numerator looks (“we start our associates at $225,000!”), a large enough denominator will lead to a much less impressive quotient per hour worked.
