In Homa Bay - about 70% of each shilling spent in the County Government goes to about 7,500 people. In a county of 1.2 million people, this is only 0.7% of the county population. How? Well, first order of business is to drop about 48% of each shilling on salaries for that tiny fraction. 0.7% takes 48%. The legal limit is 35%. This 12% extra, results in KSH 3.9 billion being stolen from citizens in just the last three years alone. Since devolution? KSH 11.4 billion stolen that way. This is insanity. Just imagine what KSH 11.4 billion would do in terms of uplifting the standard of life in Homa Bay. The County Assembly in three years takes KSH 3.63 billion. Understand what am saying here. 54 MCAs, in just the last three years, have consumed KSH 3.63 billion of the budget. Total insanity. During that time period, only KSH 453 million was spent on bursaries. KSH 3.63 billion on 54 MCAs. KSH 453 on bursaries for all the kids in a county with a population of 1.2 million. KSH 930 million in three years went to luxury travel. KSH 74 million for cars for the Governor. In only one year. One year! KSH 1.4 billion in roads are stalled. But you know what is not stalled? County headquarters for politicians. Take a look at the attached. @HomaBayCountyKE @gladyswanga

Nobody in Japan is giving a contract worth KSH 375 billion to a convicted criminal. You see? That’s the difference.

Prudence. Purpose. Prudence As Governor of Kiambu, small businesses (those with less than KSH 500,000 in monthly revenue) will pay KSH 0 in permit fees. Because we should be rooting for them to succeed. Kiambu collects roughly KSH 900 million annually in permits. That includes small and large businesses. But the county wastes more on wasteful travel and illegal salaries and benefits. Not to mention large scale corruption. ABOUT KSH 2 billion on wasteful travel in 5 years. I say - let’s be prudent with what we have, instead of burdening small businesses.

One of the serious collateral repercussions of our type of politics is that the average person loses the ability to tell WHAT GOVERNMENT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. You know - the purpose of government. Here is a question I got recently from a voter after they learnt that am a candidate for Governor. "Am a Kiambu voter. My question to you is, what are your ongoing ground personal projects"? I said: Am sorry, what do you mean? Response: "Are you waiting to be voted to start delivering or you have started delivery before being voted in"? The person asking this question means well. They are wondering if the candidate understands HOW to win votes. At least the way it has been done before. But that question also tells you what is rotten with our politics. A candidate is a walking ATM. They are expected to use their personal funds to fix what our corrupt politicians have neglected. To fix years of theft and corruption. If that is the standard, and if this is how we will continue to conduct ourselves around politics - we are doomed. Let's not kid ourselves. We are done. I tell people when I meet them - I am not here to bribe anyone into a vote. If you want change, please be that change. Start by saying: I am not going to ask a candidate for office to do what the thieves we have elected have failed to do, DESPITE YEARS OF OPPORTUNITY, AND TRILLIONS OF SHILLINGS.

Watu wangu wa Kiambu: Let’s not get into the habit of waiting for the courts to fix our horrible decisions at the ballot box. By the time crooks get nailed, it is way too late. Sure @GovernorBabayao is headed to the Big House for a decade. But that will not correct the lives ruined by his theft. Young people who lost out economic opportunities will not get justice. The current Governor - @KWamatangi - a thief through and through- will likely join his buddy in prison after 2027. He has cases in court for theft. Of public funds. We have the opportunity to elect an honourable, competent, and capable Governor. Let’s do it. Prudence. Purpose. Progress

In Tharaka Nithi, what are the priorities? Let's look at the last three years. KSH 16 billion has been spent. 52% of each single shilling went to salaries for 1% of the county population. Effectively diverting KSH 2.9 billion from serving citizens. This is the difference between development, or, nothing. It mean that the county only spent 21% of revenue on development, when the minimum under the law is 30%. Guys - these are not abstract theories or concepts. When those in government pervert devolution and spend 52% of the budget on salaries against a legal maximum of 35% - the outcome is that you have no schools, no roads, and no water! To make it worse, the county spent KSH 546 million travelling in style, while only spending KSH 54 million on bursaries. One shilling for bursaries, for EACH TEN they spend travelling! Unbelievable. Think about this: After stealing KSH 2.9 billion from citizens through illegal salaries, and after spending 10 times on travel what they spent on education/bursaries - the county went on to say that, the reason a KSH 700 million development project has stalled is: Lack of funds. You cannot make this stuff up. In addition: KSH 2.47 billion in claimed compensation CANNOT BE SUPPORTED. KSH 883 million in purchases CANNOT BE CONFIRMED. KSH 68 million in "fuel expenses" cannot be properly supported. Change must come. Please read, re-read, download, and share. @nithitharaka @FlavNasmbu @Senate_KE @NAssemblyKE @TNCAssembly

When a publicly known conman from Zimbabwe is able to walk into Kenya and walk out with Kenyan citizenship and KSH 375 billion contract without any real experience in doing anything of value anywhere, you need no other indication that our country is a banana republic. We have a government of thieves, for thieves, and for thieves. This is the shameful legacy of @WilliamsRuto And we should never allow anyone to re-write history to cover this.

Our country is such a crude joke. Try and make sense of this. Our leaders are so corrupt that they willingly sign up to an ebola pandemic. Willingly. Now that ebola is here, we are getting ‘donations and grants’ from our ‘partners’. For example, KSH 259 million from China. Yes. KSH 259 million. The county sitting on KSH 700 billion worth of stalled projects. The county wasting KSH 36 billion on wasteful interest charges. Such as KSH 8.2 billion on wasteful interest on a legal bill at the ministry of health in just one year. The county wasting KSH 59 billion on illegal contract variations. The contract wasting KSH 231 billion on projects without value for money, is begging for KSH 259 million from China in order to deal with a self-inflicted ebola situation. God have mercy!

A constitution is only as resilient as the citizens willing to enforce it. When the state treats ecological survival as a public relations exercise and governance as an extraction scheme, reform is no longer a political preference. It is a constitutional imperative. The People’s Liberation Party is not merely an alternative; it is the institutional antidote to performative politics. Join us. Let us build a state worthy of our future. #OnePeopleOnePurpose #UniteLiberate

Kajiado is the textbook example of broken, confused government. A total and complete parasite on citizens. Here is a summary from the last three years: KSH 29 billion was spent by the county government. A whopping 49% of each shilling went to salaries for the tiny fraction, less than 1%, of the people in government. This is the hallmark of devolution - it has become an extraction tool. The legal limit of 35% - very generous by international and private sector standards, has no meaning. It's violation allows KSH 4.12 billion in just three years to be diverted to the 1% of people in government. This, from a county am told has no water infrastructure. KSH 1.4 billion of the budget went to wasteful travel across the globe. Strategic leadership "meeting" in Dubai. Workshop on games in Uganda. Not even the games, but a "workshop" on games. All of it 100% useless to citizens. KSH 1.4 billion is wasted that way, on top of the KSH 4.12 billion stolen through illegal salary schemes. ONLY KSH 284 million is devoted to bursaries. For each shilling devoted to bursaries, 5 are devoted to luxury travel. KSH 4.17 billion in "purchases" could not be confirmed or verified. KSH 1.4 billion in "assets" acquired or owned cannot be traced. KSH 488 million project abandoned by contractor. Abandoned, wasting close to KSH 500 million. KSH 162 million in "emergency transfers" cannot be verified. Nobody really knows what they were used for, but they were not emergency expenses. "Legal fees" of KSH 107 million paid without approval or itemized breakdown. How is this a government? And where is @EACCKenya @Senate_KE @NAssemblyKE @kajiadoassembly ? Its violation allows KSH 4.12 billion in just three years to be diverted to the 1% of people in government.
