Germany has the most hostile environment for entrepreneurs, basically hard-mode for startups. You can’t imagine how much BS they come up with when you run a company there.

If they inherited it and these companies are still being maintained till this day, that's a win at the end of the day for Germany. - cape.

In the EU the entrepreneur is the prostitute and the administration is the abusive pimp. According to the pimps the prostitutes are worthless without him and as thus they should be forever grateful and submitted.

Many people in the U.S. think what we have here is the norm everywhere else. But it is not. Many people in the U.S. are willing to lose it, not realizing how precious what we have. Tragic.

Because it's nearly impossible to create anything in Germany or Europe as a whole. Rampant bureaucracy, and politically driven resentment against high achievers, fueled by and supported by unions... it's a madhouse.

“Made their own money” Or took on gigantic amounts of investment from older people with tons of money and insane trust in youthful workhorses. Only in america.

Same throughout most of Europe. And not just at the very top. The US encourages and supports entrepreneurial endeavors far more than most of Europe

Germany is bankrupt. Pension liability funded under 10%. Industrial production -25%. Co2 targets will crush production more thus killing tax base. The 70% d/gdp is deceptive. They will have to issue 100s and 100s of billions from 2027 as their gdp implodes

The problem isn't rich people inheriting stuff, the issue is socialist policies that make building personal wealth impossible.

Yet, Germany's economy is far healthier. Germans enjoy a higher standard of living than Americans. The German State actually cares for its citizens. And there are no Peter Thiels using a corrupt child rapist to stack the odds in their favour.

What is a homeless rate in Germany vs US? How many Germans do not have health insurance or file for bankruptcy because of unpaid medical bills? What is the average healthy life span of a German vs American? What is Gini income inequality or intentional homicide rates etc. Germany has many problem but Thiel’s analysis is extremely one sided. By the way, social upward mobility index in Germany is higher than in the US.

In German, a verb to "make" money is "verdienen", which means "to gain through service". To escape semantic underclass people use informal "kohle machen" which means "to make coal"

All the incentives are wrong. There is no entrepreneurial class. If you have your ability to build a business you leave.

That’s the ironic part of these European socialist policies and high tax countries, it creates a monopolistic moat around the wealthiest people in their countries, and strangles out the middle classes’ ability to make headways to challenge the established economic powers

The real difference is opportunity. America is still creating new fortunes. Germany seems to be mostly passing old ones down.

Truth. There is a pathetic level of wealth class in these older nations including Britain who sit on their inheritances & entitlements snooty down on America, and the basic classes beneath them.

Bürokratie was booming in the 80ies and 90ies. Then extended for 36 more years. You either grew with it and made the challenges. Many failed. And now new companies cannot get any hold of it.
