🚨 BREAKING: Texas state Rep. Gina Hinojosa has filed an official request to inspect unredacted communications between Gov. Greg Abbott’s office and Elon Musk and his companies, after roughly 1,400 pages of records released last year were heavily redacted.
The state previously argued that portions of the communications could be withheld because they contained “intimate and embarrassing information.”
In a letter sent to Abbott’s office today, Hinojosa invokes a provision of the Texas Public Information Act governing information requested by lawmakers for legislative purposes. She is seeking the same records previously released to the Texas Newsroom, but “without any redactions whatsoever,” including material deemed “embarrassing” or “intimate.”
Hinojosa says the records could shed new light on Musk’s relationship with Abbott, including his companies’ lucrative state contracts and tax incentives, as well as Musk’s campaign contributions. She argues Musk has turned Texas into a corporate playground and says greater transparency is needed to expose what she describes as corruption in Abbott’s relationship with powerful tech interests.
She is requesting that Abbott’s office arrange an inspection of both the redacted and unredacted records on or around October 13.
Now Texans may finally learn what was considered so “intimate and embarrassing” that it was kept from public view.

Thankfully, under @GregAbbott_TX, Texas remains pro-business. We wouldn’t attract innovators like Musk if your anti-growth killjoy policies were in charge.

This is unacceptable, but it does appear to be getting dealt with. He was flagged 15 yards, pulled from the game, and has since apologized.
That said, I have serious questions about the culture in which a player thought this was remotely OK. Pair this with another Texas player celebrating by pretending to sniff his own balls, and you really have to wonder what the hell is happening down in Austin.

He was a 17-year-old allegedly involved in a 12-attack shooting spree that injured four people, and an ICE detainer had been issued.
The obvious question is: Why was someone allegedly involved in this level of violence still on the street?
A more accurate headline might be: “Violent illegal alien taken into ICE custody.”

Thanks, @JSchanzer. Qatar is, as you put it, “the arsonists and the firefighters,” and those who take their money, playing their game, are complicit.
That includes politicians, academics, journalists, and others around the world. Israel is not immune to their influence.
I wonder though how much of Ruth Margalit’s piece is independent reporting and how much is information fed by interested parties.
The timing is hard to ignore: it drops roughly six weeks before Israel’s October election.
Maybe coincidence. Nevertheless, sourcing deserves scrutiny.

The US used approximately 80 interceptor missiles at a US base in Jordan today. The total number of US interceptors in the world sets at around 800. The Middle East is believed to have around 300.
Obviously the US interceptors will run out with only a few more attacks by Iran. Iran will then be able to directly attack US bases in the Middle East.

One correction, the area known as E1 does not bisect Judea and Samaria. There remains 15 km of territory connecting northern and southern “West Bank.”
E1 links the adjacent city of Ma’ale Adumim to Jerusalem, which was part of the land swap proposals by both Barak and Olmert.
Burnham and Miliband know this. Their rhetoric and now actions have nothing to do with preserving a two-state solution.
They’re simply pandering to voters who are leaving Labour for the openly antisemitic Greens.
