The American Reserve Modernization Act (ARMA) just cleared the House Financial Services Committee. We built support with members of Congress, subject matter experts, Commerce, and Treasury. Significant effort was made by committee staff on this important legislation, and for that collaborative work, we are grateful. Thank you to Chairman @RepFrenchHill, Chairman @RepBryanSteil, and the @FinancialCmte for advancing this bipartisan legislation which protects the American principles of financial sovereignty through self-custody, while establishing a clear Congressional framework for responsibly securing digital asset holdings held across our federal government.

Today, the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee advanced my Air Traffic Situational Awareness Enhancement Act. Our air traffic control professionals deserve the most modern, reliable technology available to keep Americans safe. This bill addresses a straightforward gap by bringing proven situational awareness tools to contract towers that lack them. This bipartisan fix is straightforward. The safety benefit is real, and the impact of this bill will improve aviation safety across the nation.

From oil and gas, to land being returned to Alaska, to removing regulations that do not work for our state, to preserving our traditions and rights, Alaskans sent me to Washington to get to work and deliver results for our state. For many Americans, September 11th remains a living memory. For a new generation, it is now history. 25 years later, we have a responsibility to tell that story and remember the nearly 3,000 Americans we lost and to honor the heroes who ran toward danger. May we never forget.

This week, I spent time in Nome touring critical infrastructure projects, visiting healthcare facilities and local businesses, talking with municipal and Native leaders, and hearing directly from the people who live and work in this important part of Alaska. There is no road connecting Nome to the rest of our state. That’s why other robust infrastructure is critical to keep the communities of Western Alaska connected. Investing in Nome as a deep-water port means more reliable access to goods, greater economic opportunity, improved emergency preparedness, and critical American infrastructure in a region where national security is of growing importance. I appreciate the warm welcome from Nome, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the communities of rural Alaska to unlock land, resources, training, jobs, and the investment needed for the common infrastructure that underpins it all.

Another important action for Alaska! I’ve been able to witness firsthand the opportunities Red Dog Mine creates for Northwest Alaska. For nearly four decades, Red Dog has supported good-paying jobs for many of Alaska’s rural residents in the Northwest part of our state and produced the zinc essential to American infrastructure. Alaska has the resources America needs. We need a permitting system capable of responsibly turning those resources into American production, American jobs, and stronger domestic supply chains.

Great conversation at @AOGA today about the future of Alaska energy. In just a matter of months, we’ve turned decades of Alaska priorities into action - restoring access to our resources, securing long-term lease sales, delivering a better revenue share for Alaska, and creating the certainty needed to bring investment back to our state. But we cannot take this moment for granted. Alaska has the energy, minerals, workforce, and strategic location America needs. Now we have to turn this opportunity into projects, jobs, lower energy costs, and lasting prosperity for the next generation of Alaskans.

This Congress, @HouseGOP secured historic investments to modernize our nation’s air traffic control infrastructure and build a safer, more reliable aviation system for the future. I’ve also been proud to lead the bipartisan Aviation Weather Safety Improvement Act to strengthen coordination between the FAA, National Weather Service, and our aviation workforce and help ensure Center Weather Service Units are adequately staffed to support the safe and efficient movement of aircraft. Alaska must remain the gold standard for aviation safety. By investing in modern technology, reliable weather information, and the professionals who keep our airspace moving, we can strengthen safety today while ensuring America remains the global leader in aviation.

Earlier this week, I joined @TroutUnlimited, @kinrossgold and local partners in Fairbanks to celebrate the next chapter of the Alaska Abandoned Mine Restoration Initiative at Cripple Creek. Alaska has an incredible opportunity to responsibly develop the minerals our economy, military, and national security depend on. But with that opportunity comes responsibility. As we look to Alaska’s role in strengthening America’s mineral security, we must continue to develop, restore, and steward our resources so we leave something even better for the next generation. That’s the standard we should expect as Alaska helps lead America’s mineral future.
