They never mention the closed borders and the STOPAGE of the inflow of illegal migrants. They never mention the deportations. They never mention crime statistics. This talk about not voting for midterms because “that’ll show them” is a sub-50 level IQ statement. “Let’s not vote and allow the people that are creating the problems to continue creating even more problems”. This is, without any real competition, the dumbest opinion I’ve heard this week. She presents as a black piller, which typically comes with at least a passing acquaintance with how power actually operates. And then the big idea arrives: what if we all just decided not to vote? The conversation would change, the ideas would change, the system would have no choice but to pivot because there are more of us than them. That isn’t blackpilling. It’s the cleanest, most polished version I’ve seen of “tell me you’re playing for the other team without saying you’re playing for the other team.” The system does not become more responsive when you withdraw. It simply registers that one side stayed home and proceeds accordingly. Calling that strategy doesn’t make it strategy. It just makes the surrender sound more thoughtful than it is. Stupidity on a grand scale, delivered with total sincerity.

This is political fan fiction. Elections don’t stop because you refuse to participate. Nobody is forced to “pivot.” You simply remove yourself from the equation and hand the decision to the people who actually show up. You don’t become more powerful by making yourself politically irrelevant. Just ask Thomas Massie.

FWIW, I'm not going to debate the merits of not voting b/c it's legitimately the dumbest shit ever. If you care about our Republic, you vote. And if you don't vote, you don't care about the Republic. It's really that black-and-white to me and everyone I care to associate with. And that's especially true when EVERYTHING is on the line. Remember, it's not just about us; we have children and future generations that are relying on us. I keep seeing people talk about sitting out the midterms to “teach Republicans a lesson,” and I think we need to challenge the premise behind that argument. We have accomplished a hell of a lot. Has everything happened as quickly as everyone wanted? No. Have Republicans disappointed me on some things? Absolutely. But pretending nothing has changed because we haven’t gotten everything we wanted is ridiculous. You don’t protect the progress you’ve made by voluntarily surrendering political power. You don’t hold Republicans accountable by making it easier for Democrats to take control. And you certainly don’t move your agenda forward by refusing to participate. If you want to cut off your nose to spite your face, that’s your choice. Just remember, you’re not only going to have to look at yourself in the mirror afterward, the rest of us are going to be stuck looking at you as well. 😒

Jody White & Tom Howe, both nominated by the U.S. Taxpayers Party, are running for Michigan’s highest court despite neither holding a valid Michigan law license. So how did they get on the ballot in the first place? Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s office says the candidates are legally permitted to appear on the ballot. However, appearing on the ballot & being legally qualified to take office are TWO different things. Huh?? 🤯 Michigan's Constitution requires Supreme Court justices to be licensed to practice law in Michigan and to have been admitted to practice for at least 5 years. Jody White and Thomas Howe have acknowledged that neither currently holds a valid Michigan law license. Well then that leaves some important questions: Who verifies that judicial candidates meet the constitutional requirements to serve? What happens if voters elect someone who cannot legally take office? What qualifications did these candidates certify when they filed their paperwork? And why are voters learning about these licensing problems from an investigative news report rather than through a clearly explained election process? Conservatives spend two fucking years screaming “RINO!” like somebody broke into the house and installed the candidate while everyone was asleep. Then you look at the freaking primary numbers. In FL-27, less than 1% of the district’s population backed Maria Elvira Salazar’s primary opponent. Roughly 4% participated in renomination. Four fucking percent. Then the outrage machine fires up afterward like the result fell out of the sky. That is an absolutely spectacular self-own. Precinct positions sit empty. Republican clubs recycle the same people, the same speeches, the same grievances, the same stale fucking headcount. The grassroots spends hours online performing rage for strangers while the boring machinery that actually shapes candidates and turnout sits there collecting dust. Then November gets close and everyone suddenly discovers urgency. Where are the better candidates? Where are the fighters? Why does the establishment keep getting its people through? Because the people who care enough to organize early keep controlling the field while everybody else shows up later with a flamethrower and a grievance. And the low-propensity voter everyone depends on? Nobody called him. Nobody recruited him. Nobody bothered until panic season. In case you missed it... Republicans (led by @JonHusted) had a bill to lower electricity prices. It passed the House 417-3 - supported by everyone from the Freedom Caucus to the Squad. Democrats in the Senate blocked it. Why? Because they want max pain going into November.
