I can get behind the movie for what it was, just like the Anderson movies.
I didn't mind the moments of Bryan being sarcy and quippy as that was his character and he did have an personal arc with wanting the child with his girlfriend.
But as a "Resident Evil" movie, sorry, but having a few references is never going to be enough to make me accept it as a "Resident Evil" movie.
It was closer to being more of a John Carpenter's "The Thing" sequel, than anything to do with RE.
This is what we get when new film makers try to put their stamp on a franchise with something fresh and new, ultimately pushing the fan base into the backseat and ignored.
As a movie: 8-8.5/10
As Resident Evil movie: 3/10
It's frustrating being an RE fan right now.
