Here I was planning the usual ADR singing praises to PostgreSQL... but not this time. I finally found one reason to use SQL Server instead of the goat. I'm actually surprised @PostgreSQL support for bitemporal data is non-existing. Image is SQL Server.

A must watch! Fabulous interview with Mike Stonebraker, one of the great and winner of a Turing Award. Co-creator of Ingress and PostgreSQL and a pioneer of the relational data model. He talks a bit of everything... including AI. youtube.com/watch?v=YPObBOwI…

Software is becoming worse -- obvious statement of the day. This is the only way you disable auto-saving in RustRover. I spent 15 minutes around settings trying to understand why the heck it was autosaving on every single keystroke. And I only got to this setting because I gave up and opened my browser. @rustrover, it's a freaking code editor! We DO NOT WANT autosaving by default! But at the very least fix the goddamn label.

And if it wasn't enough clankers produce bad code, we have to also take into consideration humans write terrible documentation. The absurdity of Spec-Driven Development is next level. youtube.com/watch?v=nnUMJX90…

You're right. Not easy at all. But had fun with it over lunch time. "Needs a Remake" represents the entirety of the SSI Gold Box, not just Pool of Radiance. And best retro game is the whole Avadon Series from Spiderweb.

I guess setting "modelineexpr" to false would stop this? And "modelineexpr" is off by default. I cannot go to my linux machine at home. But am I wrong? youtube.com/watch?v=zMpn9ICa…

Knees are fine. It's the goddamn bulging disk that I need to fix. I programmed an entire strategy PBM (Play by Mail) game in the late 80s with this (dBase II Plus). Quite successful on my home country, I might add. Ran it for 4 years until the internet came around and my players slowly stopped sending their weekly game orders.

The quantity and the level of nonsense code in modern nvim configuration drives me up the wall. Don't worry: I will learn rust one day, once I am done here.
