All 32 NATO Military Representatives arrived in Kyiv for an official visit yesterday. It is the first time the Alliance's Military Committee has visited Ukraine in eight years.
Led by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, the delegation met with Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Mykhailo Drapatyi, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to discuss front-line updates and military priorities. Allied representatives also held a solemn ceremony at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv to honor fallen Ukrainian Defenders.
"The bond between NATO and Ukraine is stronger and stronger. In facing Russia's continued aggression against Ukraine and its reckless hybrid activities in NATO countries, we stand unwavering with Ukraine in the heroic defense of its sovereignty, its territorial integrity and the future of its people.
Ukraine's courageous and resilient spirits remain unbreakable and serve as an example to other nations. An example that combines with all the lessons we can learn from your commanders, from their experience, which will ultimately help our alliance too, to better face today's and tomorrow's threats.
To answer those who think that by perpetrating acts of sabotage, cyber attack and violation of the airspace in NATO territory, they will undermine this support and our resolve, I will respond, you are failing. NATO's support for Ukraine continues to grow and our unity is stronger than ever. Russia bears full responsibility for this dangerous and unacceptable behavior.
And allies will continue to sharpen their tools, strengthening all elements of our deterrence and defense," Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said.
