I had a sit-down with @EAMGtv in Kigali to share a few thoughts on how we can change the way young people see agriculture. I am happy that @AGRA_Africa, through its youth engagement platform, @GenAfrica_, is putting innovation and investment at the centre of its youth engagement in agriculture. These are two things I believe are critical to getting more young people to see agriculture not just as farming, but as a space for entrepreneurship, technology, jobs and real opportunity.

Every human being has equal value. Every single one. At the United Nations General Assembly, I challenged a world that still decides whose lives deserve protection and whose suffering can be ignored. No race is superior. No people are disposable. Until we honour that truth, "everywhere is war" remains a warning we have failed to heed. Africa's market is valued at approximately US$ 4 trillion, yet less than 5% of its instruments by value are rated. A lot of youth are interested in agriculture. They’re just not interested in the primary level, and that is because, as Africa, we have not yet adopted modern forms of farming. When you think about agriculture, it’s normally a hoe or, at best, driving a tractor.
