The self importance behind this is staggering.
As if Bitcoin needs him, or anyone else, to police who is allowed to participate in the network.
The constant need to define an in-group, gatekeep who is a real Bitcoiner and talk shit about anyone integrating Bitcoin into the existing financial system is genuinely embarrassing.
"Toxic" Bitcoin maximalism was never about gatekeeping the network, it was about recognising that Bitcoin is the only "crypto" asset with genuine value and utility.
Somewhere along the way, these guys appointed themselves the authority on correct and incorrect use of a network explicitly designed to need no authority.
Oh the sweet irony.
Bitcoin becomes more useful, not less, when it is worth $10 million a coin and millions of businesses worldwide hold it as a corporate treasury asset.
Self custody, corporate treasuries, ETFs, nation state reserves. All of it strengthens the network.
Unfortunately for people like Kratter, they will need to accept that most of the Bitcoin in existence will end up in the hands of capital allocators.
It's time to grow up and recognise the world for what it is, not for what we want it to be.
For the record, Saylor has done more for Bitcoin adoption than any of you.

People like @mattkratter do more to slow the growth of broad P2P Bitcoin use and self custodial Bitcoin than the “suitcoiners” they criticize.
Their talking points are not relatable to the vast majority of people, and their disrespectful nature is a turnoff to most people that don’t already hold Bitcoin. I’ve never even interacted with Kratter and he blocked me and several other “suitcoiners” while falsely attacking our characters and intentions.
These actions hurt him and the things he’s concerned about, and almost don’t matter for us. I’d simply ignore it & not comment if it wasn’t for the fact that I care about increasing adoption of self custody Bitcoin and P2P use & see his actions as a risk to achieve that goal. There’s some irony there…
With regard to Digital Credit, I’ve never had a single investor bring up a concern from something said by Kratter or others in his circle. The unfortunate reality for them is they have a small echo chamber and little organic distribution.
My conclusion from these interactions is that unless they change course in a major way and have an ego death, it will fall on our industry to teach the importance of self custody Bitcoin, using Bitcoin P2P, and running nodes, as I don’t think most of these critics are capable of doing it outside of their small circle.
The good news is people like yourself and many others are up for the task. I’m up for it too.
It’s important.
