My take on these proposed academic exchanges with China is that academic exchanges with China directly led to Covid. So, as a mere matter of return on investment, this was without doubt the most expensive academic exchange program in human history. Maybe we should have less of it rather than more.

I don't agree with him about everything and he's made some mistakes, especially on immigration issues, but I certainly still support his run for Ohio Governor. If he's not elected, I fear potential disaster for Ohio across the full mine-run of issues. I also support much of the work of @DineshDSouza, even though my views do not align 100% with him either. People seem to have short memories. Dinesh did such pioneering -- and I seem to remember record-breaking -- documentary work exposing Barack Hussein Obama at a critical time. For that alone he deserves a mild form of political canonization. I'm also a fan of his daughter, @MrsDanielleGill and even more so of her firebrand husband @realBrandonGill. I think this concept of a "Woke Right" is a false parallelism that doesn't really exist, which is not to say there aren't some racist people out there. There clearly are. But I'm seeing too many of my allies smeared as racist who are not racist at all. The nuclear family I lead is multi-racial. So I simply won't stand for the smearing and the potential splash-back/sloshing around tarring everyone-in-sight effect of this kind of loose set of politically flailing attacks. It seems like it's all an attempt to get at @VP and encumber his future presidential run in 2028. Nor can VP Vance be inaccurately smeared as racist either, as his wife @SLOTUS is an Indian American. To be clear: My political enemies are the Communists, the Democrat Socialists, the economic Marxists, and cultural Marxists, and the so-called "Progressives." While my mere political rivals are the ordinary Democrats who do not overlap with the prior 5 categories, though that group of Democrats is increasingly a beleaguered minority in that party. Losing this focus (and that careful framing) during the run up to these critical Midterm elections is to miss the mark significantly as to what the challenges of this hour in America. I don't think Bill Gates has ever said anything particularly intelligent, and he certainly does not strike me as unusually intelligent in the sense of having a deep, granular command of complicated subjects. Gates got insanely rich because he ended up controlling the operating system layer of the mass market personal computer industry at exactly the right historical moment. Specifically, Microsoft got the IBM operating system contract and, crucially, also got the right to license the operating system to other computer manufacturers. So Gates got strategically lucky, or, if we are being charitable, showed very good strategic foresight. But none of that is evidence of some extraordinary or brilliant mind.

I will not hear any complaining about this. Joe Biden tried to put Donald Trump in jail for the rest of his life. If he can't tolerate a little bit of mockery, then too bad for him. Anybody pretending that President Trump needs to adopt this artifice of "Oh yeah, there's really bipartisan unity, and God forbid we insult one another," is being ridiculous. You don't get to try to put the former president in jail and then expect that the rest of us will just be okay with it (or that you won't get mocked if you end up losing)

No matter your politics, you should also think for a minute about what the media have done to this country, and to the sanity of millions of people, with their incessant lies over the past 10 years, starting with this guy’s own newspaper pumping out a total lie, one that even Peter Strzok admitted was false, in order to cripple Trump’s first term right out of the gate. Casting the duly elected president of the United States as a Russian agent is about as extreme an obliteration of norms as you can imagine. Once you do something like that, there is no stuffing the decorum genie back in the bottle.

It’s astonishing that these NRO types are still whining about decorum as if the last ten years never happened. Hillary Clinton literally ran a dirty op portraying her opponent as a Russian agent. An FBI official openly admitted she ran a “shadow government” against Trump. The DOJ raided a president’s home. You do not get to spend a decade torching every norm in sight and then suddenly clutch your pearls because the other side stopped playing nice. You cannot put this back in the bottle. The old rules are dead.

The complete and total media meltdown over the past few days has been something to behold. It is hard to imagine a more perfect demonstration of the narcissism, entitlement, and petulance that have always defined these people. There is something deeply strange about Tom Cotton’s trajectory on the Wuhan lab. Early in Covid, he correctly raised the possibility that the virus had emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He was immediately hit with simultaneous smear pieces from the New York Times and Washington Post portraying him as a crazy conspiracy theorist. It felt like a warning shot from the intelligence establishment. Ever since, Cotton has been far less outspoken on the lab origin issue. Now he appears to have gone a step further and is actively obstructing an investigation into it.

This really hits the nail on the head. Ukraine generally, and Zelensky specifically, were always against Trump and tried everything they could to sabotage him. Fine, that can be said of a lot of people but what I will never understand is why the guy who exposed all of this is now being punished by the Trump administration. There is no universe in which Trump, if he knew what was happening, would let this stand. Which tells me he does not know what is being done to Andrii, and that, by extension, deep state operatives still control far too much of what goes on inside the government.

The only reason this whole Diego Garcia/Chagos issue exists is that some international court decided Britain should hand the islands to Mauritius, 1600 miles away, which never owned or controlled them. So a bunch of unelected, self-important globalists in robes simply made up a claim and decreed that Britain should surrender one of the world’s most strategically important island groups to a Chinese vassal state. Any self-respecting country would have ignored them.

A lot of people on this list are Russiagate hoaxers and Ukraine impeachment operatives. Evelyn Farkas was one of the worst Russia Russia propagators and played a central role in the campaign for a special counsel. Alina Polyakova promoted the same nonsense, including at Brookings, the home of Lawfare. Volker and Pyatt were key figures in advancing the Ukraine impeachment hoax. And now Zelensky is championing them. It is all so insufferable. Meanwhile, the guy who actually told the truth about these matters, including Ukraine’s role in interfering in the 2016 election and the impeachment hoax being used to bury Biden corruption, Andrii Telizhenko, remains under brutal sanctions imposed not by Democrats, but by the Trump administration. Make it make sense.

At this point, the default should be to assume that everything coming from these AI bros is either a lie or a gross exaggeration designed to prop up their companies and protect their turf.

My theory on libertarianism is that while intellectually elegant and economically insightful, it could only exist “in the wild” when American power was not seriously contested externally and the domestic culture still ran on a roughly-agreed-upon Judeo-Christian moral framework.
