The Score: • Claude Opus 5.5 held an estimated 130 lbs! It took 9 hours and 11 minutes to print 17 parts and used 441 grams of filament. • Meta Muse Spark 1.3 held 26.5 lbs. It took 13 hours and 12 minutes to print 49 parts and used 478 grams of filament. • OpenAI GPT-6 Astra held an estimated 17.5 lbs. It took 15 hours and 44 minutes to print 29 parts and used 442 grams of filament. • SpaceXAI Grok 4.7 did not finish. On assembly it could not stand up by itself. It took 12 hours and 22 minutes to print 29 parts and used 460 grams of filament. • Kimi K3 did not finish. It wasn’t engineered correctly so the bridge could not even be assembled. Anthropic just published its official prompting guide for Opus 5.5. if you’re still prompting it like Opus 5, you’re probably wasting tokens. here’s what changed: 1.⁠ ⁠use medium effort by default Opus 5.5 at medium can already beat Opus 5 at high while costing less. 2.⁠ ⁠stop writing “think step by step” reasoning is built in. use the effort setting instead of forcing it through the prompt. 3.⁠ ⁠progress updates don’t mean it’s done on long runs, Opus may stop to report progress. if the task isn’t finished, tell it to keep going. 4.⁠ ⁠separate pasted content from instructions emails, docs and web text should be clearly labeled so Opus knows what is context and what is instruction. 5.⁠ ⁠you need fewer image workarounds it handles screenshots, charts and diagrams much better now, so some custom OCR steps may be unnecessary. 6.⁠ ⁠for design, say what you don’t want “make it unique” is vague. “no purple gradients, no centered hero, no emoji icons” gives the model actual constraints to follow. small prompt changes, but they can save a lot of tokens.
