Today, I attended the @Tunnel2Towers 5K to support members of my team and everyone running in honor of our fallen first responders and service members. The Tunnels to Towers Foundation supports homeless veterans and the families of fallen first responders and wounded warriors. Their work is truly incredible and makes a lasting difference. I’ve worked with the Foundation on multiple occasions, including on my recent bill, the Veterans Housing Opportunity Act, which would ensure unused veterans housing assistance vouchers can be redirected to other communities where the need for veteran housing assistance is greatest. Thank you to all 45,000 people who participated to support the families of those who run toward danger to protect others.

My team will be set up at the Bloomsburg Fair for the entire week to provide assistance with federal agencies and casework. As Pennsylvania’s largest agricultural fair, the 171st Bloomsburg Fair is a great place to connect with our office, learn more about the services we provide, and enjoy the festivities. I look forward to being there this week, and our team will be on hand throughout the fair. Come by the State and County Exhibits building for help getting a passport, accessing VA benefits, navigating the federal bureaucracy, or just to say hello.

Had a great meeting today at BNY’s Pittsburgh office with President Mike Keslar and his team to learn more about their AI cybersecurity facilities and their commitment to growing Pennsylvania’s skilled workforce. Pennsylvania is home to BNY’s AI Research Hub, where they’ve committed $10 million over five years to build an AI Lab in conjunction with CMU. This partnership represents BNY’s dedication to developing and retaining Pennsylvania’s best and brightest. Today, Energy @SecretaryWright joined @RepMackenzie, @SenatorJColeman, and I in Pennsylvania for a roundtable discussion on rising electricity demand, grid reliability, customer affordability, and what Pennsylvania needs to support economic development. After our discussion with local stakeholders, the Secretary announced a $71.5 million investment to modernize Northeast Pennsylvania’s electric grid. This investment will strengthen reliability and increase deliverable power from roughly 1,600 megawatts to 4,650. Since day one, President Trump and Secretary Wright have led the effort to unleash domestic energy production and modernize America’s electric grid to provide abundant and affordable electricity to Pennsylvania families and businesses. Follow the guides in the images below or refer to the FCC’s online guide to protect yourself and your assets: fcc.gov/blockit I have been leading the effort to crack down on these schemes in Congress by educating consumers, improving coordination between government, law enforcement and telecom companies while working to increase penalties for the perpetrators. These calls are more than a hindrance, they cost Americans billions of dollars a year. These resources are an important step to protect yourself and your family from fraud and scams.

I had an engaging conversation today with members of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce at their legislative breakfast. I had the opportunity to discuss our work in Congress to support entrepreneurs and small businesses, including provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act that permanently extend the Section 199A Small Business Deduction, expensing for domestic R&D research, and 100% bonus depreciation. Much of our discussion focused on our work to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, as well as trade, energy, and affordability for families and businesses. We also discussed the importance of the Williamsport Regional Airport and our efforts to renew commercial flight service to the region. I’d like to thank Chamber Board Chair Jay Alexander and CEO Jason Fink for hosting an outstanding event, and State Representative Hamm and County Commissioners Metzger, Sortman, and Mussina for joining and adding their voices to the conversation.

Today, President @realDonaldTrump, @SecKennedy, and @DrOzCMS announced Most Favored Nation drug pricing for Medicaid beneficiaries in all 50 states. This move will require drug manufacturers to offer their products at the same low price offered in other nations to Medicaid patients nationwide, saving Medicaid a total of $64.3 billion over the next decade. I appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with our region’s manufacturers and employers about some of the most pressing issues facing their industries and the work we’re doing in Washington to help them compete, grow, and create good-paying jobs here in northeastern Pennsylvania. It was also great to be joined by State Representatives Joanne Stehr, Tim Twardzik, and Jamie Barton, along with Commissioners Larry Padora and Boots Hetherington. We had a productive discussion on the federal issues that matter most to our businesses and employees, including pharmaceutical pricing, workforce challenges, energy costs, regulations, and President Trump’s efforts to strengthen American manufacturing. This week, the House passed the Ratepayer Protection Act, which codifies President Trump’s mandate that data centers commit to providing their own power. The legislation passed the House overwhelmingly. Unfortunately, the bill stalled in the Senate when one Democrat objected to its passage. I had an informative discussion today with Ben Barcovtch of Barcovtch Bros Farms and Kolton Reasy of Country View Family Farms, representatives of the Pennsylvania Pork Producers, about the issues facing the pork industry in our Commonwealth. We discussed their support for Farm Bill provisions that will prevent states like California from imposing their own livestock production standards on pork producers in other states and the need to address workforce issues so that farms can have the reliable labor they need to maintain their operations. Pennsylvania’s pork producers support jobs, strengthen rural communities, and help feed our nation. I appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from producers and will continue to ensure they have the tools they need to compete and succeed.

During the Biden administration, we saw how unelected bureaucrats at the CFPB quietly used informal tools like guidance letters to force banks into cutting off lawful industries from financial systems. Thankfully, during the Trump administration, much of that guidance was withdrawn. But permanent change is needed to ensure future administrations cannot intimidate and drive lawful businesses out of financial systems just because they don’t like them. In today’s @HouseSmallBiz markup, I spoke in favor of the Combatting Foreign Threats to Main Street Act introduced by Chairman @RepRWilliams. This bill would require the SBA and agencies across the federal government to develop educational materials to help American small businesses identify, address, and report foreign-linked fraud and economic threats, especially from adversaries like China and Russia. As chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee on Financial Services, I've led the committee's efforts in combating consumer fraud and scams. The DOJ’s Scam Center Strike Force has been instrumental in our joint efforts to disrupt fraud networks at home and abroad. This includes a recent operation in conjunction with @PAAttorneyGen Dave Sunday in Philadelphia that uncovered more than $4 million in fraudulent claims submitted to Medicare and Medicaid. Thank you, U.S. Attorney Pirro, for your leadership and partnership in protecting hardworking Americans, holding criminals accountable, and fighting fraud wherever it occurs.

Great meeting today with representatives of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association on Capitol Hill. We discussed the importance of preserving Pennsylvania’s trusted car dealers and erasing government-mandated EV sales that limit consumer choice and increase vehicle costs. Today, I spoke in support of two common-sense pieces of legislation that would help the federal government win the war on taxpayer fraud. H.R. 9576, the National Fraud Enforcement Division Act, would codify the successful National Fraud Enforcement Division at the DOJ. Since its founding in April, this Division has carried out over 1,200 major fraud actions. While H.R. 10326, the PROOF Act, would require state agencies administering federally funded programs to provide the DOJ access to vital data that would help track down fraudsters and recover stolen taxpayer money. While you would think that supporting these bills to combat the fraud that we have seen across this country, including hospice fraud in Los Angeles and child care fraud in Minneapolis, would be a bipartisan endeavor, it sadly is not. Rather than supporting our efforts to crack down on fraud, Democrats are fighting for the fraudsters. Watch my remarks on the House floor, where I let my colleagues in Congress know the stakes are too high to play politics with this issue.

For more than a year, the @FinancialCmte Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, which I chair, led an in-depth investigation into the growing prevalence of fraud and scams facing American consumers. Our investigation found that Americans lost $16 billion to these schemes in 2025 alone, with the true toll likely closer to $200 billion due to underreporting. From veterans and small businesses to seniors and young people, everyone is vulnerable. Today, I took to the House floor to speak in support of the GUARD Act, legislation that will address many of the issues we identified in our investigation and give law enforcement the tools needed to combat sophisticated criminals. Our U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick built a great company at a young age. On 9/11, he lost everything—including his brother and 657 colleagues. He wasn’t at work that morning because he took his son to his first day of kindergarten. Traveling into work, he watched when the towers were hit. He rebuilt it all with tremendous difficulty and sadness, but also with honor and an extraordinary commitment to charity and helping others. The attached gift he gave me is a reminder of the good man he is. God bless Secretary @howardlutnick.

It was an honor to attend the 12th Annual Captain Jason B. Jones Memorial Golf Tournament at the Schuylkill Country Club. Jason was an Orwigsburg native, West Point graduate and Green Beret who dedicated his life to serving our country. He was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2014 while leading a Special Forces team. More than a decade later, Jason’s legacy continues through the work of his parents Jay and Suzy, sister Lizzy, many friends and the Captain Jason Jones Memorial Foundation. During the ceremony, we also reflected on the anniversary of September 11 and remembered the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost that day, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed. We also remembered U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Sean Matthew Kelly from Orwigsburg, who passed away unexpectedly in July while stationed at Fort Drum. Sean dedicated his life to serving our country, and his loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, fellow soldiers and our entire community. Thank you to everyone who continues to carry forward the legacies of Jason and Sean and to all who made today’s tournament and ceremony possible. We will always remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Twenty-five years ago, the September 11th attacks changed our country and our world forever. Many Americans still bear scars from that day, both physical and psychological. A few days after the attacks, I went to Lower Manhattan to deliver mobility scooters to first responders who were on their feet for days. While the sense of loss was overwhelming, the support and patriotism displayed by all in New York City and in communities across the nation inspired hope in all of us. Today, as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th, Americans must come together to rededicate ourselves to the values that make the United States the greatest country in the world and remain vigilant to all threats to our Republic.

Today, I joined @cspan to discuss the growing contrast between our governing philosophy and an increasingly socialist Democratic Party. We believe in growing the economy through the private sector, securing our border, achieving American energy dominance, maintaining a strong national defense, and restoring common sense, including protecting girl’s sports. President Trump has been clear: the days of allowing our trading partners to take advantage of American workers, farmers, and manufacturers are over. Secretary @howardlutnick and @USTradeRep Jamieson Greer negotiated in good faith with Canada right up to the 11th hour. Instead of addressing longstanding trade barriers and reaching a fair, reciprocal agreement, Canadian negotiators walked away. The Trump administration is right to demand a level playing field. Canada has restricted American autos and maintained protectionist barriers against our dairy farmers and other U.S. exports. We should expect the same fair treatment from Canada that they expect from us.
