In today's cost-of-living crisis, unions are more critical than ever to help workers earn higher pay and secure better benefits. Last week, @AFSCME President Patrick Moran and I met to discuss how Congress can empower unions so that workers can have a voice on the job.

Every worker deserves to be treated with dignity & respect. That's a lesson I learned as an IBEW apprentice, and it's one that guides me in Congress. To my brothers and sisters in @IBEW, thank you for having me at this year's Convention, and let's keep fighting for the American worker and their families, together.

It was an honor to join our hardworking Nurses and clinicians from @MassNurses on the picket line this morning to demand that Mass General/Brigham Hospital return to the bargaining table and reach a fair and equitable contract with the MNA. The Trump administration is waging war on public education. Not on our watch. Today, I stood with @AFGENational, @AFTunion, and @NEA, and the educators, staff, and students they serve. We are fighting to ensure every student can access a quality public education.

For over a year, the Trump administration has worked to dismantle the Department of Education, undermining workers and putting critical services at risk. This morning, I joined @AFGENational and colleagues to mark one year since the mass termination of agency staff.

When nurses speak up for patient safety, they deserve support, not suspensions. My office joined @NationalNurses at Olympia Fields today, standing with them for their patients and their colleagues. Our community depends on delivery workers every day—for food, groceries, packages, and more. Yet far too often, they are losing their lives in preventable traffic collisions. That’s why my office joined local leaders in calling for a protected, safe lane for delivery workers on Northern Boulevard in Queens. It’s past time to give the people who keep our city moving safer routes every day they’re on the job.

I met with Starbucks Workers United (SBWU) in PA-12 to hear what they’re experiencing on the job and what they’re fighting for. Every worker deserves fair wages, strong benefits, & a voice in their workplace. Starbucks needs to come to the table and bargain in good faith.

When workers vote to form a union, they shouldn’t have to wait years to get a fair contract. My Faster Labor Contracts Act would stop employers from dragging out negotiations and end the delay tactics designed to wear workers down. I’m proud this bill passed the House and I’m going to keep fighting to get it signed into law.
