This week Jim Howe, Terrestrial Energy VP of Government Relations, joined a panel of industry experts at the @US_NIC’s session on nuclear fuel with the Congressional Advanced Nuclear Caucus. Jim's message was clear: fuel choice is a commercial decision, not just a technical one. Terrestrial Energy's IMSR plants run on standard-assay low-enriched uranium (LEU) — available today from multiple western suppliers — avoiding the high costs and supply challenges that come with the higher enrichment levels most advanced reactors require. He also highlighted Terrestrial Energy's mature supply chain for fuel and key components, anchored by commercial relationships already in place — one more reason IMSR is positioned to deploy at fleet scale.
