The UK is pushing solar power despite having some of the lowest sunlight levels in the world.
Northern Britain receives less sunshine than even Canada.
According to a World Bank solar resource assessment, the UK ranks among the least suitable countries for solar generation, second only to Ireland in Europe.
Low sunlight means low output and greater reliance on backup power.
Moreover, the UK government has approved solar geoengineering research, experiments designed to dim incoming sunlight.
So the policy is this: build solar in a low sunlight country while exploring ways to block the sun.

This is Rainbow Canyon in California.
Nicknamed Star Wars Canyon, it was commonly used for fighter jet training from WWII to 2019 by the USAF and US Navy.
With easy access by photographers, it made for some opportunities for amazing footage to be captured.
"Below-the-rim" activity was suspended in 2019 and there is currently a minimum 1,000' above the lip limit.

The comments on this are as divided as the nation itself.
The hour is later than even I imagined.
The overarching message is painful yet clear:
Americans no longer have faith that their elections will do anything positive anymore.
And that should horrify us all.
Nevertheless, I refuse to just do nothing and watch it burn. I’ll still vote. So should you. You do you I guess.
I do find it odd that people who can’t even be bothered to vote seem to think they’d be bothered to fight to the death.
Direct your hate accordingly if you must but remember who the real traitor is in a civil war: whoever you’re shooting at.
Exhaust every peaceful option before you get froggy like that. Because once you jump into the abyss, there’s no going back.

I keep hearing people talk about civil war like it’s weather coming over the ridge. “Burn it down! Let the whole thing break! Start again in the ashes!”
Reckless words from folks who still have a ballot sitting on the table.
Before you speak of rifles, use the piece of paper men once crossed oceans and battlefields to earn. If you curse the Republic as dead, make damn sure you showed up while it was still breathing.
There’s nothing martial or noble about surrendering early.
A warrior doesn’t abandon the wall because the night is long. He holds until holding is impossible. He also spends every round before drawing the blade. And exhausts every lawful avenue because once blood answers politics, nobody controls what comes next.
Honor demands you MUST vote. Not because voting is sacred. Because war is.
If the darkest hour comes, let your conscience be clean enough to say you held the line until the line itself was gone.
War is the last argument of a people who have already spent every other word.

Please watch the video starting from the 35-second mark. As Peng Liyuan was leaving the National Museum in Washington, D.C., at least three young men wearing identical light-brown hats, face masks, and sunglasses, and each carrying an umbrella, dragged a protester onto the nearby grass and beat him. One of them locked his arm around the protester’s neck so he could not resist. The way they seized and dragged him was highly professional and clearly the product of training.
Their clothing and gear match those shown in my video below.
The Chinese Communist Party’s professional enforcers have committed violence on American soil.
Some people say these men belong to the CCP’s Central Guard Regiment. I believe that is correct. Worldwide, only the guards of the Central Guard Regiment patrol with specially designed multifunctional umbrellas (I will look for that video shortly).
